It's Me, It's Me, Ernest and Miss P.

I am playing Miss Prism in The Importance of Being Earnest this spring and am looking forward to the challenge of speaking in an English accent and wearing makeup to age me into the proper age bracket. I am also very excited to have the chance to wear wire-rimmed glasses and a prim and proper costume, complete with fussy jacket.

Below, some quotations I like from this, one of Oscar Wilde's most famous plays:

"I never travel without my diary. One should always have something sensational to read in the train."

"To lose one parent, Mr. Worthing, may be regarded as a misfortune; to lose both looks like carelessness."

"Well, I can't eat muffins in an agitated manner. The butter would probably get on my cuffs. One must eat muffins quite calmly; it is the only way to eat them."

"Thirty-five is a very attractive age. London society is full of women of the very highest birth who have, of their own free choice, remained 35 for years."
